Step by step
-
Locally: set a fixed IP address and disable the password
Assign Shelly a fixed IP address in your router. In the Shelly app or in a browser (the device's IP address) disable authentication: Gen2–Gen4 — Settings → Authentication, Gen1 — Internet & Security → Restrict login. The connector does not support logging in to Shelly.
-
Locally: add the device behind a connector
Devices → Add → choose the driver: “Shelly relay / plug (Gen2, Gen3, Gen4)”, “Shelly Gen1 relay / plug”, “Shelly PM Mini”, meters “Shelly Pro 3EM”, “Shelly 3EM (Gen1)”, “Shelly EM (Gen1)” or “Shelly Pro EM-50”. Address: the Shelly IP, behind a connector with firmware 0.23 or newer.
-
Devices with several outputs
Pro 2PM, Pro 4PM, Shelly 2.5, Shelly EM and Pro EM-50 have several channels. Add each channel as a separate device with the same IP address, and on the device page choose the channel in “Driver settings” (output 1 = channel 0).
-
Via Shelly Cloud: copy the key and the server
Shelly app → User settings → Authorization cloud key: copy the key and the server address (e.g. shelly-103-eu.shelly.cloud). You will find the Device ID in the device → Settings → Device information.
-
Via Shelly Cloud: add the device
Devices → Add → model “Shelly relay / plug — Shelly Cloud” or “Shelly meter — Shelly Cloud”. Enter the server, Device ID, channel and key.
-
Check switching on and off
On the device page, in the “Relay” card, use “Enable” and “Disable”. In simulation mode the command does not reach the device — you change the mode in the site's control settings.
The Shelly Cloud key changes when the Shelly account password is changed — then add the device again with the new key.
Shelly Cloud accepts 1 request per second; for real-time control (e.g. PV surplus) local reading is better.
Grid connection meter: positive power = import from the grid. If it is the other way round, reverse the current transformer or set the direction in the Shelly app.
Integration not verified on devices — report differences from the Shelly app.
