What you will need
- Huawei SUN2000 inverter with optimizers (e.g. SUN2000-450W-P, 600W-P) connected via SDongle or LAN port
- A connector with firmware 0.34 or newer on the same network as the inverter
- The SDongle "installer" account password (if the inverter requires it)
Step by step
-
Connect the inverter
Add the Huawei SUN2000 inverter over Modbus TCP (model "Huawei SUN2000"), choose a connector with firmware 0.34 or newer and enter the address of the inverter or SDongle.
-
Enter the installer password
The SDongle releases optimizer data only after logging in as "installer". On the device page, in the "Installer login" card, enter the password — it is stored encrypted and never displayed.
-
Wait for a reading
The connector reads the optimizers every 5 minutes. After the first reading the device page shows an "Optimizers" section with the current power of each module.
-
Open the performance view
Click "See output over time and module comparison". Pick a range (24 hours, 7 or 30 days): you will see each module's power chart on a common scale, the average and maximum, temperature and alarms.
-
Read the comparison
The "vs median" column shows how much of the group's average power a module delivers. Below 70% it is flagged as weaker — then check shading, dirt and connections.
If the inverter rejects the installer password, the connector will not retry it until the password is changed, so the installer account is not locked.
The comparison makes sense with at least three optimizers and a group average above 50 W, i.e. in daylight.
Inverter data is refreshed every few minutes, so brief shading may not be visible.
The integration has not been verified on a real device — please report the result of the first run.
Questions and problems
I do not see an "Optimizers" section on the inverter page
It appears after the first successful reading, usually a few minutes after saving the installer password. If not, check the connector log for OPTIMIZERS entries.
What does "weaker than the rest" mean?
The module's average power is below 70% of the group median. It is a hint — the cause is often shading or a different orientation or tilt, not a fault.
How long is the history kept?
As long as measurement history in your plan: 30 days on Free, longer on higher plans (e.g. 365 days on Standard). Older readings are deleted automatically.
